From a background of Fine
Art and Photography, I combine the two disciplines allowing me to create
personal but yet documentary style work. Currently I am looking at the wider
cultural and geographical affect of the ever-changing clay industry in
Cornwall. Looking closely at both historical and current sites I have targeted
a singular global company and their restoration projects.
I work mainly with 6x6 or
6x7 medium format cameras, using both colour and black and white film. Printing
either C-type or Fibre based prints. Textual references play a particularly
large role in my influences, apposed to image references. Even the likes of
sociology practitioners show through in my research and final ideas.
As well as my photographs I
am currently experimenting with the use of the sites resources. Taking trees,
and clay to combine and create paper, to then print my images on using liquid
light. All of which have come from a recently closed clay dries in Par Docks. This
particular body of work will hopefully continue to develop into a site
specific, public art piece.
