London-based artist Julie Umerle went underground with Art Below in January 2012 at 'Art of Angel'. Her work was displayed at Angel Tube station with a concurrent exhibition at Candid Arts Trust, Islington. Exhibiting artists included Sarah Maple, Lora Hristova, Inkie and Schoonie. 'Art of Angel' was timed to coincide with London Art Fair, an annual event in the London arts calendar.
Julie Umerle is an award-winning painter whose practice is an investigation of materials and the perception of the image. Solo exhibitions include 'Rewind' at Art Bermondsey Project Space, London, (2016) and 'Cosmos or Chaos' at studio1.1, London (2010). International group shows include 'Made in Britain', National Gallery of Poland, Gdansk (2019); 'Contemporary British Masters', Yantai Art Museum, China (2017); and 'SCOPE Miami Beach Art Fair', USA (2016).
Her much anticipated memoir 'Art, Life and Everything' was published as a limited edition in September 2019, available online at amazon.co.uk and in bookshops including Waterstones and Foyles.
