I am Lisa Imas, a 17-year-old student currently living and studying in London, England. I am very passionate about art in all its forms, although I particularly love animation. I am both Russian and American, which influences several pieces of my artwork. Much of my art is also influenced by my surroundings, such as London and other major cities like New York City.
Right now, I am trying to experiment with various media and ideas and see what works. Although I am best at drawing or painting from observation, I want to expand my horizons. So far I am finding that using tape on Plexiglass or doing a landscape entirely in footprints is very fun and refreshing, and produces interesting effects. Some pieces have come out better than others because of this experimentation, but I think that some of my other works came out very well, and were well worth the failures.
I am not sure, exactly, what I want to do with my future as an artist, but I certainly hope to experiment and play with ideas until I find out. Right now I am leaning towards illustration or animation, but I'm still unsure.
In the past, I've been exhibited multiple times in London through the Prince's Drawing School, through which I have also sold some artwork. Additionally, I've created some artwork as a commission. More recently, my artwork was featured through ArtBelow at Sloane Square station in August 2010.
I also run a small T-shirt business called Total-Tee, which can be found at www.total-tee.com. It is UK-based, and environmentally friendly. Proceeds from the shirt sales go to the Mwereni School for the Blind in Tanzania.
