Matt Black left the print trade in 2004 to study
Illustration at Kingston University. Since graduating in 2007 he has
exhibited work at various places around London including: ICA, The
Coningsby Gallery, The Marie-Lloyd Bar, The Macbeth and with Art Below on the London Underground.
He has numerous projects with the Arts Collective and Independent Publisher Lazy Gramophone who have proudly published many of his illustrations. He also has ongoing commissions with the London-based band Lyrebird.
He is a winner of Don't Panic Magazine's Poster Design Competition and has recently had an image published online by 20x20 magazine.
Earlier this year Matt collaborated with the artist Ned Conran to produce artwork for the children's charity Love in the Sky. The final piece 'Your Brain in Love' was exhibited and sold at the ICA London at the end of June 2009.
He lives with his wife, two daughters and dog in the countryside just outside of Oxford.
